6/30/06

I had a good day today. I have been doing really well at the 6-max tables. People are making huge mistakes and I am cashing in most of the time. I lost a couple huge pots when I got allin in on the turn and people hit their two outers ect. Overall for the day I did well.

Hit quads agian. This time quad fours. I always seem to get paid on my quads.

can't play today, I have to go into work early. Today Is the last day of week three. I will post my results later.

***Edit***

I actually did get to play today. I went into work early, wasn't feeling well so I went home early. I actually played 800 hands last night and won about $17. I was an up and down night. I haven't been running that well in that 9 man tables so the second half of the night I switched to 6 max.

I flopped quad J's today, felt good.

My Stats for the night
9 man 248 hands (-$48)

6/24/06 Part I

I played about 2.5 hrs late friday night, mostly sunday early morning. I played approx 450 hands and won $50. I turned things around. I started off the night taking a big beat. AJ vs J6 on a J 10 4 flop. We end up all in and the river comes a 6. Instead of tilting, I took a deep breath, turned off the TV, put on the headphones, and only concentrated on poker. Things started to fall into place after that. I will play some more today so there will be a part II.

I finished 11th in the BPT event at Mansion poker. I didn't cash but I did pick up 16 pts.

6/22/06

I started this week off like shit. I had a horrible day. I ended d0wn $60. I took a couple bad beats at the start of my session that effected my play drastically. I knew I wasn't on my game. I started down twenty. I should have just walked away, but I wanted to play. I was making huge mistakes and people were capitalizing on them. I was calling big raises with mediocre cards. I was paying off made hands, and the bad part is I knew what I was doing. I tilted away $60. I am going to regroup and get my head back on striaght for my next session. I know I can pull out of this slump I have been in the last three days. (note to self: don't tilt away money).

I don't have my stats in front of me but I played about 400 hands and lost about $60.

Week 2 End Recap

Today I played 500 hands at pokerstars and didn't win anything. I came out dead even. I can't stand the cash games at stars so I am going to give up on the bonus and go back to fulltilt. Basically the last two days at pokerstars put a drain on my week. I should have broke 200 this week.

So here are the stats for the week

I am concerned with my agression factor. I am passive preflop but very agressive postflop. Are these numbers average. Am I not raising/rerasing enough?

6/20/06

Well, I recorded my first loosing day since the challange started. I played almost 500 hands and lost approx $12. It was just a flopped set getting busted day, not much more I can say. I did deposit in pokerstars today, about half the hands played were at pokerstars. I have always strugled with PS cash games. I actually came out a winner at fulltilt but a losser at PS.

I seem to be a quad magnet. I got quad tens twice today. The one below I doubled up.

6/17 & 6/18 Weekend; BPT final table

I didn't play on saturday 17th.

I played on sunday, and ran pretty well. I played around 300 hands and won $50. I have completed my goal for week two and going for week three. I have three days left this week.

I hit qauds twice Sunday:

I also played in the BPT event at Pokershare, I ended getting 6th. That should get me 17 points and I cashed for $17. I was basically card dead. I don't think I got a big hand all night. I basically bluffed my hole way though the tourny. I got caught a couple times, sucked out once at the final table. The last hand I got all in 50/50 shot and didn't win.

Write Your Congressman Day

I could ramble on for hours about how much bullshit this legislation to ban online gambling is, but I will only state a few things. Living in the land of the free should and Needs to remain "Free". The government is pushing itself way to far into our daily lives to even propose a bill of this sort. If I want to spend my money (lose or not) at gambling, buying scrapbooking supplies, spending my whole paycheck on tennis balls (The point is it is my money, I earned it, I played my fn 27% tax on it) I should be able to. I should have the right to play a game of chance or skill if that is what I please. I don't think gambling is immoral. It is no different than any other thing people choose to do. Some people get addicted to food, porn and countless other things. The few bad (those who spend and "lose" every penny they make) are not the average joe who puts a few dollars online to have some fun and possibly win money. Basically what I am saying is the government should have a say in banning things such as crime and other things that do hurt the moral fabic of our society. They shouldn't have the right to monitor what game you play on your free time. (within reason, which gambling is) The thought that someone could receive up to 5 years in prison for playing poker makes me sick, I hope it makes you sick also. So if you haven't joined the pokerplayers alliance or written you congressman (or woman) please do so. You can find out more info by clicking this link: http://www.pocketfives.com/36CE1470-4E62-4D36-AE07-9F5C400A9926.aspx

The other part of this bill that pisses me off is that it directly contirdicts itself by making loopholes allowing lottery and horse racing to be bet online. The bullshit part about that is the Horse Racing Federation (or what ever its name is) has donated lots of money to the person that is proposing this bill. (total bs)

I don't see how anyone can support the supposed moral crusade the republicans are pushing for. For god sake this country was framed around the "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" So lets keep the government out of our daily lives.

I like this qoute from BodogAri's blog
""Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness" - If 2 gay people want to get married, go right ahead, if that's what makes them happy. If 2 consenting adults reach a business deal, go right ahead, if that's what makes both of u happy. And lastly, if 2 (or 2 million) consenting adults want to play poker online, why the #&*% is our government (set up to protect our right to "pursue happiness") trying to stop us?"

anyway this is a sore subject for me....

6/15/06

A good start for my first day. I played 381 hands. I hit a couple sets and made a few good calls and bluffs. Overall I don't think I madwe many mistakes today. I have to work twelve hours every day next week so I won't be able to play much, hope I can jump ahead of myself to say on track with my challange.

BPT: I played in the Pokerstars BPT event today, only 41 people showed up. I made it to 17th when I lost, I had AJs, he hhad A9o and rivered a 9.

I played 300 hands on my NL challange. I was unable to get anyone to pay off my AA or KK today. I must have been at a tight table because I could only steal the blinds with my big hands.

Moving right along, I have already met my weekly challange so I am going to try to blow it out of the water. I have 3 days left.

I thought I might mention that my bb/100 is in NL pokertracker format which cuts the actual number in half. So may actual BB/100 is double what you see.

I played decent poker today. I should have made a little more than I did but was unable to laydown my overpair's. I don't know If I will be able to do 5k hands per week that is on average 700 per day which is a little more than I want to do for now. The weekly total will probably be around 3500. I almost have my weekly goal complteted and still have 4 days left.

I played in the 10k Iron Man freeroll (fulltilt) today placing 120th which payed $17. Making slow progress but that is how you have to do it when you build a bankroll.

Chart

Here is a chart of the challange I am going to start. As I stated earlier I basically just mirrored Titans01 challange. I made a few modifications. The challange is planned out for a year with my bankroll starting at $320 and playing .10/.25 NL and working my way up the limits to 3/6 NL by this time next year with a projected bankroll of $36,000. This plan is actually very simple and the figures are very doable. I think I will get way ahead of myself and have to update the plan to actual (at least that is the hope).

New Challange: NL

I have changed my challange and goals for the long run. I have decided not to play limit because I enjoy NL much better. I am going to focus hard on NL cash games for a long time. I am not concerned with my tournament game at this point other than the BPT. I have been playing at various sites the last couple of days and I don't think any of them compair to fulltilt. I am going to do a challange very simular to Titans01. For this challange I will only focus on fulltilt and will be using my bankroll there which sits at 326. I will make weekly goals for # of hands to play that week and target $ amount. In general my goal will be to play 3 tables at a time 5k hands per week and maintain a 6bb/100. My weekly $ goals will be set based up on this number. Starting today here is how my challange will look. (it is kind of hard to format this in the blog so I may change the format a few times until I find one that is appealing.)Challange started 6/7 I will update totals at the end of each week.

Update

I have been playing alot of limit the last three days. I have played almost 3k hands. (2200 .5/1 & 700 1/2) I have been doing much better at the 1/2 level. I have been playing at pokerstars and fulltilt and from what I read those are two of the tightest sites to play at. I am looking into going to partypoker or elsewhere to find more loose games. I have been using pokertracker to tack my games.

After my loosing 10 SNG's my bankroll took a big hit. I have made about 80 on my limit games. Overall my bankroll should start to increase slowly.

There is a nice 25 $216 seat added at fulltilt put on by pocketfives.com It is a 20 dollar tourny so there should be a nice amount of seats up for grabs. The tourny is on Thursday at the same time as the BPT. If you want to play check it out on the Pocketfives forum.

My bankroll is stitting at 1300. I haven't set any money goals for this month because I am not sure what to really expect. My main goal is to play 25000 limit hands this month. I will probably play the rest of them at the 1/2 level. Just a rough estimate if I can get 2bb/100 that would be approx $500. My tentative goal is to be at $1800 by the end of June. -GL-

Saturday, June 03, 2006

Update:

The final ten SNG's I played Killed my. I basically didn't money in one of them and It killed my ROI and ITM%. I actually stopped at 99 because I am very Pissed at SNG's right now. Here is a picture of my stats, still decent.

I haven't been performing all that well on my last few Bluff events and It is showing. I need to get my act together. I think there is something wrong with my tourny play right now and I hope I can figure it out very soon.

I have changed the way I am doing things and my long term goals. I am not going to set a bankroll limit for myself this month due to me undertaking a new (can't think of a word) game? Anyway, my new goal is to play only limit cash games with the exception of the BPT.

My long term goal is to play 25K hands at each level and then evaluate my performance. I will post updates and such. In the last two days I have played about 1500 hands. I am starting at to .5/1 tables and moving up/down from there. I have already read all of Slansky's books but I am currently rereading them starting with "small stakes hold'em" then on to the rest. If you suggest a any other books let me know what they are.

Not really sure where my Bankroll is due to alot of money moving around the last two days. -Good luck-

Here is a graph of my bankroll trends for the last two months. The far right is a pretty hard downward trend. That has came back up a little...
